President Obama's 'Job' Speech To The Joint Session Of Congress

I watched the President's speech to the joint session of Congress this evening.  The scenes of the politicians making their way into the chamber, and socializing prior to the President's arrival, were the telling preamble to the show; everyone was smiling effusively, glad-handing one and all.  The President's arrival showed more of the same; big-tooted grins, man-hugs, kisses, and smiles.  This was our apparatchiks socializing...they're all members in good standing of the same club, Democrats and Republicans alike, and it's not the real-world club of coupon-cutting, turning off the lights, and searching for BOGO's, that we belong to.

Cue the teleprompters, and Obama shifted into presentation mode; furrowed brow, steely-eyed, and voice perfectly tuned for maximum outrage and vitriol.  The speech was fine tuned for maximum election campaign  sound-bites and red-meat for his base.  Pure, demagogic rhetoric, crafted in a perfect Alinsky structure.

We don't need more cow-bell, we need more TEA Party!
